Shrine
A single-room chapel of fused white sand-glass, blown rather than built, its walls rippling like frozen water and chiming faintly when the wind hits certain panes. It sits atop a black basalt outcrop overlooking a tidal flat, reachable only at low tide via a causeway of sun-bleached whalebone posts. No moss, no cracks, no weathering — the glass repels grime as though newly formed each dawn. A bronze bell hangs outside under a fin-shaped awning, its rope woven from kelp fiber that never rots.
Inside, the light refracts into shifting rainbows across a floor of packed white sand raked into concentric spirals. A single altar of pale coral holds seven fist-sized orbs of captured sea-light, each pulsing on its own slow rhythm like a heartbeat. The air smells of brine and warm glass, and sound behaves strangely here — voices carry crystal-clear, but footsteps vanish entirely. Small tide pools recessed into the floor hold trapped starfish that never seem to die.
Ilsera Voth
a blind hierophant who tends the shrine barefoot, reading the tide-rhythm of the orbs by touch alone
Coalback
a tame cormorant that nests atop the bell and screeches to announce visitors before the causeway even floods
