Frequently Asked
How many classes are in D&D 5e?
The 5e SRD includes 12 classes: Paladin, Wizard, Cleric, Bard, Druid, Sorcerer, Warlock, Ranger, Fighter, Barbarian, Rogue, Monk. Each has its own guide here with subclasses, spell tables and a generator.
Which 5e classes are full spellcasters?
Wizard, Cleric, Bard, Druid, Sorcerer — they reach 9th-level spells. Paladin and Ranger are half-casters, and Warlock uses its own Pact Magic slots.
Which 5e classes don’t cast spells?
Fighter, Barbarian, Rogue, Monk — pure martials in the SRD. Their power comes from weapon attacks, manoeuvres and class features instead of spell slots.
What decides which class I should play?
Two questions cover most of it: the role you want in the party (tank, damage, healing, control) and how much magic you want to manage. The picker above narrows all twelve to your best two from those answers.
