Shadow MagicSorcerer Sorcerous Origin — D&D 5e

Shadow Magic sorcerers trace their power to a brush with the Shadowfell, and it shows: their spells lean toward the grim and the unseen, and their bodies have learned an unsettling trick for cheating death. It’s a survivalist’s origin — quietly resilient rather than flashy.

Shadow Magic Features

Level 1Eyes of the Dark

You can see through darkness as easily as dim light, letting you operate in gloom that would blind most casters.

Level 1Strength of the Shadowfell

Spells you cast that deal necrotic damage or conjure darkness land with a little extra bite, drawing on the same well your power comes from.

Level 6Hound of Ill Omen

By spending a spell slot, you can summon a spectral hound that races toward a target you name, hounding and hindering it before vanishing.

Level 14Back from the Fringe

If you drop to 0 hit points while standing in dim light or darkness, you can spend sorcery points to claw your way back to 1 hit point instead of falling.

Level 18Shadow Walk

As a bonus action while in dim light or darkness, you can flicker a short distance to another patch of shadow you can see, slipping past enemies without a sound.
