Arcane TricksterRogue Roguish Archetype — D&D 5e
Arcane Trickster splits the difference between rogue and wizard, leaning into illusion and enchantment magic to back up the sneaking and stealing you were already doing. The signature trick is animating a spectral hand that can pick locks, lift purses, and disarm traps from a distance while you stay well out of danger.

Arcane Trickster Features
Level 3 — Spellcasting
You gain a small wizard-style spell list weighted toward illusion and enchantment, giving you battlefield tricks and utility magic on top of your rogue skill set.
Level 3 — Mage Hand Legerdemain
You learn Mage Hand and can make the spectral hand invisible, using it to lift objects, pick pockets, and manipulate locks from a distance without anyone noticing.
Level 9 — Magical Ambush
Casting an illusion or enchantment spell on a creature that has not spotted you yet makes it noticeably harder for that creature to resist, punishing anyone who fails to find you first.
Level 13 — Versatile Trickster
Your spectral hand can distract a nearby creature enough to grant you advantage on an attack against it, letting the hand pull double duty as both thief and setup tool.
Level 17 — Spell Thief
Once per day, if a creature fails its save against one of your spells, you can strip a spell it knows out of its mind and cast it yourself later, adding genuine spell theft to your bag of tricks.
