TempestCleric Divine Domain — D&D 5e

Tempest Domain clerics open every fight already at full throttle — the whole subclass is built around front-loading lightning and thunder damage instead of easing into a fight the way most clerics do.

Always prepared, and they don't count against your prepared total.

Level by level

Tempest Features

Level 1Wrath of the Storm

A few times per day, a reaction blasts lightning or thunder damage back at anyone who hits the cleric in melee — free punishment for whoever thought this was an easy target.

Level 2Destructive Wrath

A Channel Divinity option locks in maximum damage on a lightning or thunder spell, turning a mediocre roll into the biggest hit the cleric can throw.

Level 6Thunderbolt Strike

Weapon hits can tack on bonus thunder damage and shove a Large or smaller target ten feet back, which is a free battlefield-control tool bolted onto ordinary melee attacks.

Level 8Divine Strike

Weapon attacks start dealing extra thunder damage once per turn, keeping the melee side of this domain scaling well past the early levels.

Level 17Stormborn

A permanent flying speed whenever the cleric is outdoors turns them into a hovering artillery piece that never has to worry about difficult terrain again.
