Storm HeraldBarbarian Primal Path — D&D 5e
Storm Herald turns your rage into a standing area-effect aura instead of a personal damage buff, picking desert, sea, or tundra at 3rd level and then hurting or hindering everyone standing near you for as long as you’re raging. It rewards staying in the thick of a crowd rather than isolating one target, which makes it the barbarian path best suited to fighting hordes instead of bosses.

Storm Herald Features
Level 3 — Storm Aura
While raging you radiate a 10-foot aura that triggers once per turn — Desert sears everyone in it for fire damage, Sea slows and can stun a creature that fails its save, and Tundra chills nearby foes and saps their speed — and the aura’s effect scales up automatically as you level, so it never falls behind.
Level 6 — Storm Soul
You gain a passive resistance or utility trait matching your storm even outside rage — Desert grants fire resistance and lets you go without water, Sea grants a swim speed and lets you breathe underwater, and Tundra grants cold resistance and the ability to shrug off tough terrain — so the subclass identity sticks around between fights.
Level 10 — Shielding Storm
You can extend your Storm Aura’s protective side onto nearby allies, granting them resistance to your storm’s associated damage type, which turns an offensive aura into cover for the whole party standing near you.
Level 14 — Raging Storm
Your storm’s harshest expression kicks in while raging — Desert exhausts anyone who ends their turn in your aura, Sea can knock prone creatures that fail their save, and Tundra gives you the option to root a nearby enemy in place, giving the capstone real control on top of the damage you’ve been dealing since level 3.
